Help Kids Listen Without Nagging, Reminding or Yelling

Over the past few months I haven't been a big fan of myself as a parent.

Do you know why?

Because I felt out of control and I felt like I didn't have a plan for dealing with tough behaviors. The school year has been exhausting, life has been busy, and although I've been happy and I love my kids, this year they've spent a lot of time pushing my buttons... then I would react... which would result in me spending a lot of time nagging, reminding, punishing, and yelling at them.

I hated it.

Not long ago I did a webinar with Amy McCready, founder of Positive Parenting Solutions, and I learned some amazing tips for how to improve my kid's behavior without nagging, reminding, punishing, OR yelling. I went from yelling at my kids several times a week (sometimes several times a day) to stopping cold turkey. It felt fabulous to get under control and have a better idea of how to deal with frustrating behaviors! I want to make sure you get to feel the same way too which is why I am so excited to share the details of our TWO upcoming webinars with you!

On Thursday, May 22nd I am excited to invite YOU to join me and hang out in FREE LIVE one hour parenting webinar with Amy! We'll learn why kids act out and simple, positive discipline strategies to encourage kids to listen and do the right thing.

Last week when I posted about this free parenting webinar on our Toddler Approved Facebook page almost a thousand of you signed up, so we added a second session!! Now we're offering both a morning and evening session on May 22nd.

Click to register for the 1pm EST/10am PST session OR the 9pm EST/6pm PST session on May 22nd. All times are based on USA time zones.

During the webinar Amy will talk about...

  • why kids really misbehave
  • how your personality may actually fuel misbehavior
  • the 5 R’s of Fair & Effective Consequences so kids listen the first time you ask
  • training resources to reduce your parenting stress & stop nagging, reminding & yelling

This webinar gives you strategies to use with kids ages 2.5 on up. I wish I would've learned some of these tips before my kids hit the toddler stage and I actually had to start using them. I definitely recommend you come join us whether your kid is still a baby or is getting ready to go into kindergarten. The more you know NOW, the more prepared you'll be when your baby turns into a toddler!

My goal is to fill my summer with fun, not frustration. I desperately need to review the 5 R’s of Fair & Effective Consequences since I've been forgetting to use them lately and our house has not been very peaceful. I want you to have an awesome summer too, so I hope you'll join me on Thursday!

What you need for this webinar:

All you need is your computer - no webcam required. You'll see and hear Amy on your screen, and you can even ask questions in the text chat. I'll be there too to chat with you too and answer questions.

I rave to friends about this webinar all the time. It is seriously the most useful way to spend an hour! By the time you are finished listening you feel empowered and ready to immediately implement the tools that Amy has taught you!

RSVP today and then join us from the comfort of your home. I love that I can lounge in my PJs on my cozy couch while enjoying this free parenting webinar, instead of sitting in an uncomfortable chair in a small room at a parenting workshop.

Space in the webinar is limited, so register soon!

Viewing on mobile devices:

If you plan to join in using your phone, the app we recommend for viewing the webinars on mobile devices is called “Puffin Web Browser Free”. There are other Puffin web browsers so it is important when searching the app stores to use the phrase above.

The app is “free” to download, however, during certain times of day, they charge 99 cents to use the part of the app needed for viewing (typically in the evening).

The app is available for Apple devices as well as Android devices. The links below will take you directly to the app. You can download the app to your device now for free but should be prepared to spend 99 cents if you participate in the evening session.

Google Play app

If you have any other questions about participating in the webinar definitely leave a comment on this post! Can't wait to "see" you on Thursday!

In the meantime, I'd love it if you could let your Facebook friends know about this upcoming parenting webinar - just click this link to share on Facebook.

  1. Hi Amy, the session times totally don't work out in for me in Australia (3am sleeping and 11am busy with 3 little ones). Will there be a recorded podcast available?

  3. Hi Kristina, I would love to join the webinar but we are traveling on Thursday. Is there any way I could listen to the recorded webinar afterwards? That would be fantastic since I think this is definitely something we need a bit of help with in our family...

  14. This sounds like a great idea, but it would have been nice to see a sample of the tips that would be given during the talk - not just a list. Even though this method might be something that is positive and works, doesn't mean it is a philosophy that everyone would want to buy into.

    1. A Simple Life Too, thanks for your comment. There was no expectation when attending this free webinar that anyone would need to buy into anything. It was offered as a free parenting webinar for those that are interested. The video linked in my post also provides some info of what was offered in the seminar. http://www.positiveparentingsolutions.com/webinars/toddler-approved.html I highly recommend the program but don't expect all to be interested in it. Amy also has an entire website dedicated to sharing about her program and loads of parenting if you want to learn more about her philopshy prior to the free webinar- http://www.positiveparentingsolutions.com/parenting-blog
