Fun Friday News about Camp Sunny Patch!

If you look around our house you will see white and red Melissa & Doug logos on almost 75% of the toys  or products that you find. I don't think I've met a Melissa & Doug product that I haven't liked yet (and neither have my kids).

So, when I recently got contacted by Melissa & Doug to be an Honor Counselor at Camp Sunny Patch this summer I was thrilled!

Camp Sunny Patch is Melissa & Doug's first ever FREE virtual summer camp! Each week different M&D Blog Ambassadors share new activities and crafts to get kids moving and having fun during the summer.

Here's why I am really enjoying Camp Sunny Patch so far...

1. Each month you can download a printable activities calendar that you can post at home. It details the theme for each week. You can also add a printable camp badge to your calendar each week when you've accomplished the activities for that week.

2. You get access to free themed activities each week on the M&D blog and a free weekly activity guide via email. We loved this week's Splish Splash Boom water activities shared by Camp Counselor Stacy Teet (a M&D Blog Ambassador and the super mom in charge over at at Kid Stuff World).

3. Every Thursday during the summer Melissa & Doug has a new Camp Sunny Patch giveaway over on their Facebook page. This week they are giving away a Spark Shark Football. It sprays water at people and can be thrown... I think every kid on our block would love one. :)

So, what does an Honor Counselor at Camp Sunny Patch do?

Great question! I get to try out an activity created by one of the extraordinary Camp Sunny Patch Counselors (who are some of my favorite people in real life) and share it with YOU and the readers over at Melissa & Doug!

I got a sneak peak at the activity yesterday and already know that you are going to love it (and so will my kids!). I will be sharing my post later in July on Melissa & Doug's blog. I can't wait!

I am also excited to be in such great company with these other awesome honor counselor bloggers (Pink & Green Mama and Carrots are Orange).

So, in the meantime if you haven't signed up to participate in Camp Sunny Patch yet, you can check out what's already been shared by going to the Camp Sunny Patch guide or head here to sign up for email updates. The Melissa & Doug Blog also has loads of information and great activities.

I have really been impressed with the activities that have been shared so far and can't wait to see what is coming up in July!

If you aren't familiar with Melissa & Doug, check out these Toddler Approved posts using some of the M&D products to see a few of the fun things we've created using the toys and products around our houses:

Paper Bag Angry Birds (using our M&D Giant Blocks)
Create a Block Village (using our wooden M&D Blocks)
Nursery Rhyme Wall
Learn to Tie Shoes
Knock Down Sight Words

I am so excited about the opportunity to participate in Camp Sunny Patch! Thanks for letting me share it with you! Have a great weekend!

PS- If you missed it on Facebook or Instagram, I shared our exciting news that baby #3 is going to be a boy! My kids are so excited (especially my 4 year old son!). We surprised them with our favorite cookies filled with blue frosting to share the news earlier this week. I have a feeling November will be here before I know it!

Disclosure: Melissa & Doug will be compensating me for my participation as an Honor Counselor at Camp Sunny Patch. All posts reflect my personal opinion and endorsement and are not swayed by compensation and/or free products. Please note that this post reflects my opinion and preferences and you might not share that same opinion.

  3. Congratulations on both! We love Melissa and Doug products, espcially all the natural materials they use for their toys (I have a hate for cheap nasty plastic toys).
