Writing a Biography: Dr Seuss Style

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, I thought I'd talk about my go to birthday gift for children ages 4-8, his book,  "My Book About Me".

This is one hardcover book that you will be happy to let your child write in! It's a "fill in the blank", "check the box", "draw a picture of", "all about me", book that will give keep your child entertained for hours and serve as a keepsake for years to come.

The basics are covered - favorite food, favorite color, height, weight, etc., as well as some other important facts such as how many forks, windows and doors you have in your house, how many footsteps it takes to get to the mailbox, or how many freckles you have on your face.

One of my favorite tasks in the book is getting signatures for the autograph page (three of which must come from a bearded man, a fireman and a man over 6'3").

Not sure which is more fun - writing the book or reading it when you're finished?

Did you have this book growing up?  What other Dr. Seuss books do you like to give as gifts?

I'm giving this book to my daughter for her birthday next week, and was hoping it would have arrived before I finished writing this so that I could have snapped some pictures of the pages to share with you - guess you're going to have to check it out next time you're at the bookstore instead.
