Have you seen or read this book by Diane Massie yet?
We heard it for the first time during Story Time at our local library last week. What a fun read aloud book - and a fun way to talk about birds and "B's" - the letter B, that is. You toddler will love to hear you say, and will love saying themselves, the sound of the BeeBee Bird,
"Beebeebobbibobbi, Beebeebobbibobbi"
By the end of this book, it should be easy for them to identify the "B" sound and words that start with the letter "B".
Our librarian also gave each child a birdfeeder to bring home. These are so simple to make, and are a perfect activity to go along with the story.
Items Needed:
Empty Toilet Paper Roll
Peanut Butter
Bird Seed
String
Poke a hole in the top of one of the ends of the toilet paper roll, thread string through, and tie a knot. Spread Peanut Butter over the Roll, and roll in the bird seed. Hang on a tree close to a window your toddler can watch from.
